CentroVision AMD Premium 60 St
Description
In intermediate and advanced dry AMD
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is one of the most common causes of severe vision loss. In Germany, approximately 7.5 million people are affected by this retinal disease. In the majority of cases, it is the dry form of AMD. Currently, there is no drug therapy available in Europe for dry age-related macular degeneration. However, studies have shown that taking a specific combination of nutrients can reduce the risk of AMD progression. CentroVision® AMD Premium is a food for special medical purposes for the dietary management of age-related macular degeneration in the intermediate and advanced stages. The composition of the ingredients has been carefully balanced based on the scientific findings of a large-scale human study. CentroVision® AMD Premium is lactose- and gluten-free, and the tablets are also suitable for vegetarians.
Innovative 3-layer tablet with MultiARSTM technology
What makes CentroVision® AMD Premium special: The tablets consist of three layers that gradually release their valuable ingredients in the body. The light orange layer containing vitamin C dissolves in the stomach, making the ingredient readily available for rapid absorption throughout the entire intestinal system. The middle layer, containing zinc and copper, is released in the small intestine, making it gentle on the stomach. Finally, the orange layer, containing the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin, as well as vitamin E, dissolves very slowly in the intestine. The ingredients are absorbed along with fats. This combined dissolution, facilitated by the tablet's specially developed fat matrix, contributes to optimal absorption in the various sections of the intestine.
AMD generation
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is an eye disease that affects the macula lutea – also known as the "yellow spot" – in the center of the retina. This eye disease increasingly occurs with advancing age. Initially, those affected perceive objects in their central field of vision as blurry or distorted. As the disease progresses, central visual acuity can decline further.
INCREASED AMD RISK FOR SMOKER
Although the exact causes of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) are not yet fully understood, scientific studies show that smoking is a significant risk factor for developing AMD and other eye diseases. Quitting smoking can serve as a preventive measure to avoid developing AMD or to minimize its progression.
VITAMINS & CAROTINOIDS
Studies have shown that certain combinations of micronutrients and vitamins can help reduce the risk of AMD progression. Antioxidants such as vitamins C and E protect the delicate photoreceptor cells in the macula. Carotenoids like lutein and zeaxanthin have an antioxidant effect. They are primarily found in the retina and macula and protect these structures. The trace element zinc can contribute to protecting cells from oxidative stress.
Instructions for use:
Please follow the instructions of your ophthalmologist or doctor. Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, take one tablet in the morning and one in the evening.
Notes:
REGULAR CHECK-UPS WITH THE OPHTHALMOLOGIST
Eye diseases such as age-related macular degeneration often develop gradually. To preserve eyesight, experts therefore recommend regular eye exams from the age of 40. Thanks to modern diagnostic and therapeutic methods, many diseases are now detected earlier and are therefore more treatable than in the past.
