Cavilon

CE-certified, Class I, non-sterile medical device. Long-lasting barrier cream. Protects the skin from body fluids at risk of incontinence-related damage and related symptoms (anal itching). It can also be used to moisturize and nourish dehydrated skin. The product can be safely used on intact or damaged skin, for example, in the presence of incontinence-related damage.

Technical features
Concentrated, hypoallergenic cream with a balanced pH, forms a waterproof barrier, is wash-resistant, and does not reduce the adhesion of plasters and adhesive dressings. Contains no petrolatum, zinc oxide, fragrance, or parabens. The product does not contain natural rubber latex or processed natural rubber.

Components
Water; diisoctyl adipate; acrylate terpolymer; coconut oil; stearyl ether PPG (15); glycerin; isopropyl palmitate; paraffin oil; trimethylsiloxysilicate; paraffin; dimethicone; phenoxyethanol; benzoic acid; dehydroacetic acid; magnesium sulfate.

Application techniques
1. Before application the skin must be clean and dry.
2. Apply a thin layer of product to the entire area to be treated using a circular motion.
3. If 3M Cavilon Long-Lasting Barrier Cream is applied to an area with skin folds, make sure these areas are separated to allow the skin to dry before applying the product.
4. It is recommended to apply it during morning hygiene and at night changing.
5. A small amount (about a 5-cent coin, equal to about 1 gram of product) is sufficient for the entire sacral area. If necessary, you can apply the product more frequently. Any greasy sensation on the skin indicates that too much product has been applied.

Conservation
Store the product at room temperature (15°-30°C). Avoid exposure to excessive heat or humidity. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture, provided the product is stored properly. The expiration date is stamped and clearly visible on each sales package.

Warnings
For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. If skin conditions worsen or show no signs of improvement within 7 days of starting treatment, consult a doctor. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, consult a doctor. Do not use on individuals with known allergies or hypersensitivity to the ingredients.

Precautions
Make sure the product is completely dry before applying diapers or clothing. Using other barrier products such as ointments, creams, or lotions may significantly reduce its effectiveness.
