Cutimed Sorbact is an innovative wound dressing that combats infections in a particularly safe and efficient way – purely physically. Cutimed Sorbact binds germs based on the principle of hydrophobic interaction and does not require the use of chemical antimicrobial substances: The special Sorbact coating gives the product strong hydrophobic (water-repellent) properties. Many pathogenic bacteria and fungi are naturally hydrophobic and therefore bind to the Sorbact fabric. Thus, with each dressing change, the number of germs in the wound is reduced, creating optimal conditions for the natural wound healing process.
Advantages:
Sorbact is a registered trademark of ABIGO medical AB. Cutimed Sorbact consists of acetate or cotton fabric fibers, which offer effective infection management thanks to a bacteria-binding coating. Latex-free formula. Not manufactured with natural rubber latex.
Areas of application:
Dressing change:
Depending on the amount of exudate, the overall condition of the wound and the surrounding area, up to 7 days if the clinical condition allows.

Areas of application:
- Cutimed Sorbact is suitable for all clean, colonized, contaminated or infected, exuding wounds:
- chronic wounds (e.g. venous, arterial or diabetic ulcers as well as pressure sores).
- Postoperative wounds and wound dehiscence.
- traumatic wounds.
- Wounds following excision of fistulas and abscesses.
- Skin fungal infections (applies to the tamponade).
