This medication is used in adults to reduce high blood pressure (hypertension).

The medicine comes as a prolonged-release tablet containing indapamide as
active substance.
Indapamide is a diuretic. Most diuretics increase the amount of urine produced by the kidneys.
However, indapamide is different from other diuretics, causing only a slight increase in
the amount of urine produced.

Do not take Impamid SR:
- if you are allergic to indapamide, other sulfonamides or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Impamid SR.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Task:
This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy. If you are planning to become pregnant or are pregnant, you should switch to an alternative treatment as soon as possible. Please tell your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant.
Breastfeeding:
There is insufficient information on the excretion of this medicine in human milk. Breastfeeding is not recommended if you are taking this medicine.

Driving and using machines:
This medicine may cause side effects caused by low blood pressure, such as dizziness or tiredness (see section 4). These side effects occur more frequently at the beginning of treatment or when combined with another antihypertensive medicine. If you feel affected, do not drive or use machines. However, with proper monitoring, these side effects are unlikely to occur.

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Instructions for correct use:
The usual dose is one tablet per day, preferably in the morning.
The tablets can be taken without regard to mealtimes. The tablets should be swallowed whole with water.
Do not break or chew them.
Treatment for high blood pressure is usually administered throughout life.

- The active substance is indapamide. Each prolonged-release tablet contains 1.5 mg indapamide.
- The other components are:
- core: lactose monohydrate (see section 2, section “Impamid SR contains lactose monohydrate”), colloidal anhydrous silica, microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate.
- film: partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide (E171), macrogol 3350, talc.
