Innovitum B XL suspension for children and infants, drops, 7 ml, Chiesi

Innovitum® B is a food for special medical purposes containing vitamins that support hematopoietic processes: vitamin B6, folic acid, and vitamin B12.

It is intended for the dietary management of anemia.

The oral suspension formula, measured in drops, was developed for premature infants, newborns, including those with low birth weight, infants, and children.

Innovitum® B is a suspension in MCT oil (medium-chain fatty acids) with three B vitamins: B6, folic acid (B9), and vitamin B12.

The composition and form of Innovitum® B allow for precise measurement and use according to directions. 1 drop contains 0.15 mg of vitamin B6, 50 μg of folic acid, and 0.3 μg of vitamin B12.

The active form of folic acid – 5-MTHF folate (calcium L-methylfolate) – is easily absorbed even by people who do not metabolize folic acid.

The small 4 ml bottle is equipped with a dropper, which facilitates precise measurement of the recommended number of drops depending on the child's age.

Importantly, the preparation is free from milk proteins, lactose, and gluten, making it suitable for individuals with intolerance to these ingredients.

Indications: 

For the dietary management of anemia, along with iron supplementation in newborns, including premature and low birth weight infants, infants, and children.

How to use Innovitum® B depending on the child's age:

• Premature newborns: To prevent anemia, it is recommended to administer 1 drop of suspension per 1 kg of the patient's body weight daily
• Infants up to 6 months of age: 1 drop daily
• Infants 6–12 months of age: 2 drops daily
• Children 1–3 years of age: 3 drops daily
• Children 4–6 years of age: 4 drops daily
• Children 7–12 years of age: 6 drops daily
• Children 13–18 years of age: 8 drops daily.

Dosage and duration of use depend on the patient's clinical condition and vitamin requirements.

They should be administered according to the physician's recommendations and under his/her supervision.

Ingredients:

MCT oil (medium chain fatty acids), bulking agent: mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride), folic acid (calcium L-methylfolate), vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin).

• fat 100 g (including saturated fatty acids 100 g), carbohydrates <0.5 g (including sugars <0.5 g), protein <0.5 g, salt 0.11 g
• vitamin B6 612 mg, folic acid 204,000 μg, vitamin B12 1200 μg.

• energy value 1 kJ/0 kcal
• fat 0 g (including saturated fatty acids 0 g), carbohydrates 0 g (including sugars 0 g), protein 0 g, salt 0.01 g
• vitamin B6 0.15 mg, folic acid 50 μg, vitamin B12 0.3 μg.

How to use:

• Shake the bottle vigorously before use to obtain a homogeneous suspension
• The measured portion can be administered directly into the mouth or dissolved in a cold/warm liquid (e.g., water, milk, fruit juice)
• It can also be mixed with other semi-liquid food at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to any of the product's ingredients.
