Multilac is a dietary supplement in capsule form containing nine carefully selected strains of live probiotic bacteria. These compounds support the health of the gastrointestinal tract; thanks to a unique encapsulation technology, they are resistant to the low pH of gastric juice and the action of digestive enzymes. The product does not contain milk or casein, making it suitable for people allergic to these ingredients.

Multilac is a synbiotic – a combination of a probiotic and a prebiotic. The probiotic component consists of bacteria naturally present in the intestinal microflora, including strains from the genera *Bacteroides*, *Bifidobacterium* and *Lactobacillus*. Prebiotic components are substances that serve as natural food for bacteria that colonize the intestine; these include fructooligosaccharides, butyric acid, acetic acid and propionic acid. Natural sources of these prebiotic substances include chicory, onions, asparagus, artichokes and many other vegetables.

Being a complex synbiotic, Multilac contains a lyophilized mixture of bacteria from nine different strains, including:
