ActiveColor Sport Thumb Splint

The ActiveColor Sport Thumb Splint is a neoprene bandage with an integrated splint for stabilizing the base and carpometacarpal joints of the thumb. It is particularly suitable for overuse injuries, strains, sprains, and stress-related irritations of the thumb. By guiding the thumb within the splint, unwanted movement is reduced and the joint is relieved of pressure.

Areas of application

The thumb splint is used for overuse prevention and in cases of acute or recurring problems such as strains, sprains, or irritation caused by overuse. It is designed for individual patient use and supports the immobilization and stabilization of the affected thumb joint.

Application and handling

Apply the bandage to the affected wrist by inserting your thumb through the designated opening. Remove the hook-and-loop fastener on the palm side and wrap the bandage snugly, but not tightly, around your wrist. Then, attach the hook-and-loop fastener to the designated loop area. To remove, open the hook-and-loop fastener and carefully pull the bandage off over your thumb; close the fastener again to prevent wear and tear.

Important instructions

The selection of the correct size and initial instruction on its use are provided by qualified personnel. The medical device should be removed before radiological examinations and during extended periods of rest, such as while sleeping. No creams or ointments should be applied to the area of ​​the bandage while it is being worn, as these can damage the material.

Warnings and contraindications

The thumb splint must not be used in cases of peripheral arterial disease (PAD), lymphatic drainage disorders, unexplained soft tissue swelling distal to the splint, sensory or circulatory disturbances in the treated area, or skin diseases in the affected area. Do not wear the splint on open wounds or if you have an intolerance to any of the materials used. If numbness occurs, loosen or remove the splint and consult your doctor, pharmacist, or specialist retailer if symptoms persist.

Care instructions

The bandage can be machine washed on a gentle cycle at 30°C. Do not bleach, tumble dry, iron, or dry clean. Close all hook-and-loop fasteners before washing, do not use fabric softener, and after washing, reshape the bandage and allow it to air dry.
