Ingredients:
The aerial part of Cheldonium majus L., fam. Papaveraceae, containing alkaloids (chelidonine and derivatives, chelerythrine, sanguinarine), chelidonic acid, saponosides, flavones, carotenoids.
Effect:
Antispasmodic, choleretic-cholagogue (stimulates the secretion and elimination of bile), hepatoprotective, promotes fat digestion, lowers cholesterol, vasodilator, hypotensive.
Main uses:
Hepato-biliary disorders (dyskinesias and biliary colic, hepatitis)
Other uses:
Hypertension, atherosclerosis.
Contraindications:
Pregnancy, breastfeeding
Preparation:
An infusion is made from 1 teaspoon of chopped plant to a cup of water.
Use:
Drink 2-3 cups of tea a day.
