Description
Diather Glucose is a lemon flavored powder for the preparation of an oral solution used in the Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT). Foods for special medical purposes are also used for dietary management in states of carbohydrate deficiency, states of exhaustion, for example after long-term physical exercise, and in states of hypoglycemia in patients with diagnosed diabetes, including after insulin overdose.
Glucose is the sugar that gives the body the energy it needs to function properly. After oral administration, glucose is readily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, metabolized in the tissues, and partially stored in the liver as glycogen.
Each Diather lemon flavored glucose sachet contains 75g of pure sugar with added lemon flavour. The product is intended for people of all ages.
