^elmex® gelée for caries prevention and for sensitive tooth necks

^Elmex® gelée contains highly concentrated amine fluoride and is suitable for preventing caries, supporting the treatment of initial caries, and treating sensitive tooth necks. The gel strengthens tooth enamel, reduces the risk of caries, and can be used from the age of six. It can be used as a weekly intensive treatment by the whole family.

elmex ^® gelée for initial caries

When a tooth loses minerals, initial caries can form beneath the surface. This is an early form of caries in which the mineral loss is limited to the enamel and the tooth surface remains intact. Initial caries is frequently seen in:

• in children and adolescents at the gum line and on the chewing surfaces
• in the spaces between teeth in adults
• appearing as a chalky white spot on smooth surfaces

Incipient caries is reversible: ^Elmex® gelée rebuilds the tooth from the inside out by replenishing lost minerals and thus reversing incipient caries.

^elmex® gelée for children, teenagers and braces wearers

Around the age of six, children begin to lose their permanent teeth. These new teeth require special protection because their enamel is not yet fully hardened (mineralized) after eruption and is therefore more susceptible to cavities. Children and teenagers with braces also have an increased risk of cavities due to the difficulty in maintaining good oral hygiene.

^Elmex® gelée replenishes missing minerals and thus supports the hardening of tooth enamel. This can reverse incipient caries.

Application of ^elmex® gelée

The following applies to adults and children aged 6 and over:

• Apply approximately 1 cm of ^elmex® gel (approx. 0.5 g gel corresponding to 6.25 mg fluoride) to the toothbrush once a week and brush your teeth.
• Rinse after 2 to 3 minutes.
• The total application time (cleaning and exposure time) must not exceed 5 minutes.
• It is best to apply it in the evening before going to bed.

For the targeted treatment of hypersensitive tooth necks, ^elmex® gel is applied directly to the affected areas. Application should only begin once the patient is able to spit out the foam.

Storage and instructions for ^elmex® gelée

Ideally, the toothpaste should be stored away from direct sunlight. Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the product can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
