OKKLUglas eye dressing (watch glass dressing)

OKKLUglas is a ready-to-use eye dressing with an adhesive strip around the perimeter and a transparent, shatterproof protective cover. It provides secure coverage for the eye after surgical procedures, injuries, or in cases of impaired eyelid closure. Depending on the variant, the dressing offers a mechanical barrier with a moisture chamber or improved air circulation through ventilation openings. Some AERO-UV variants also provide protection against UV radiation according to DIN EN 170 (protection class 2-1.2). OKKLUglas is available in various sizes and designs, including those suitable for babies and children.

Areas of application

The eye dressing is used particularly after ptosis surgery, in cases of lagophthalmos, and facial palsy. It is suitable for treating injuries to the external eye and for protecting the eye after surgical procedures. The AERO variants are primarily used as mechanical protection with optimal air circulation, while the AERO-UV variants additionally provide mechanical and UV protection for the eyes.

Application and handling

For optimal adhesion, the skin around the eye should be clean, free of oils, and dry. Bushy eyebrows can impair adhesion, so it may be helpful to carefully shave or pluck them. Gently remove the protective film and place the eye patch centrally over the eye, ensuring the shatterproof cover is centered and the eye itself is not covered by the patch. With the EXTRA version, the large adhesive area should face upwards towards the eyebrow. Press the patch gently onto the skin. Important warnings

Wearing a watch glass dressing can severely impair vision, particularly affecting the ability to drive. The dressing must not be applied to broken skin or mucous membranes. OKKLUglas should not be used if you have a known allergy to or intolerance to adhesives. Due to the risk of increased bacterial contamination and potential loss of adhesion, the eye dressing is intended for single use only. The product should be stored in a dry place.
