ALEDOV improves the signs of Parkinson's disease. Parkinson's disease is a long-term disease in which:
- become slow and unstable
- muscles are stiff
- you may develop shaking or involuntary movements (called "tremor").
If left untreated, Parkinson's disease can make it difficult for you to continue your normal daily activities.
ALEDOV contains two different medicinal substances, called: levodopa and carbidopa.
- levodopa is converted in your brain into a substance called “dopamine”.
Dopamine helps improve the signs of Parkinson's disease that you suffer from.
- carbidopa belongs to a group of medicines called ‘aromatic amino acid decarboxylase inhibitors’. It helps levodopa work more effectively by slowing down the rate at which levodopa is broken down in your body.

Do not take ALEDOV:
- if you are allergic to levodopa, carbidopa or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Pregnancy, lactation and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant,
ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this
medicine. Do not take ALEDOV if you are pregnant, might become pregnant or are breast-feeding.
Levodopa, one of the active substances in this medicine, passes into breast milk.

Driving and using machines:
When taking ALEDOV, you should be careful if you drive or use machines.
If you have ever experienced excessive sleepiness or had an episode of sudden sleep onset, you should
avoid driving or using machines and contact your doctor.
Levodopa/carbidopa affects different people in different ways. Some people have side effects

Administration of this medicine:
- Gently remove the tablet from the blister to prevent the tablet from breaking.
- If the tablet breaks when you take it out of the blister, make sure you have all the pieces of the tablet (the full dose). If you do not have all the parts of the tablet, throw them away and take another tablet from the blister.
If you take only part of a tablet (a partial dose) this may cause your symptoms to get worse.
- Take this medicine orally.
- Although your medicine may have an effect after one day, it may take up to seven days to work.
Take the tablets at regular intervals as directed by your doctor.

- Do not change the times you take your tablets or any other medicines for Parkinson's disease without first consulting your doctor.
- Avoid taking the tablets during a heavy meal.

Each tablet of ALEDOV 100 mg/25 mg tablets contains 100 mg levodopa and 25 mg carbidopa as carbidopa monohydrate.
Each ALEDOV 250 mg/25 mg tablet contains 250 mg levodopa and 25 mg carbidopa as carbidopa monohydrate.
- The other ingredients are:
ALEDOV 100 mg/25 mg tablets: microcrystalline cellulose PH 101, pregelatinized starch, crospovidone type B, hydroxypropylcellulose, yellow iron oxide (E172), microcrystalline cellulose PH 102, magnesium stearate.
ALEDOV 250 mg/25 mg tablets: microcrystalline cellulose PH 101, pregelatinized starch, crospovidone type B, hydroxypropylcellulose, indigotine (E132), microcrystalline cellulose PH 102, magnesium stearate.
