ACTION AND DESCRIPTION

Sterile hypertonic ophthalmic ointment indicated for the temporary relief of symptoms of corneal edema, such as visual disturbances and pain, even at night. Thanks to its high sodium chloride content, it has a higher osmolarity than tear fluid: this difference is necessary for the reabsorption of edematous fluid. Its application results in a higher saline concentration in the tear film and, consequently, a movement of water from the corneal layers to the surface. Sodium hyaluronate forms a protective shield on the corneal surface, providing protection and hydration. Sodium hyaluronate also makes the application of hypertonic ointment more comfortable thanks to its lubricating and mechanically protective properties.

COMPOSITION

Sodium chloride, sodium hyaluronate, petrolatum oil, petrolatum, monobasic potassium phosphate, disodium phosphate, lanolin alcohol, water, and hydroxymethylglycinate.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Wash your hands thoroughly before use.

When opening, do not use the first part of the ointment until the ointment comes out of the tube, as it may be watery.

Tilt your head back slightly and pull your lower eyelid down to form a pouch.

Hold the tube vertically over the eye.

Gently squeeze the tube to release a small amount of the product into the eye to be treated.

Apply a small amount of ointment preferably before going to bed.

If an additional daily dose is required, apply a small amount of ointment every three to four hours, or as directed by a doctor.

Be careful that the tip of the tube does not touch your eye or fingers.

Close the cap properly after use.

PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS

Do not use if you have a known hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the components.

If eye irritation occurs, stop using and consult your doctor.

After application, you may experience a foreign body sensation that disappears when you blink.

Do not use the product if the packaging is damaged.

Do not use the product after its expiration date.

Do not ingest the product.

Keep the product out of reach of children.

Do not share with anyone else.

The viscous nature of the product and prolonged exposure to the eye may cause temporary blurred vision. Ensure you can see clearly again before driving or operating tools or machinery.

Remove your contact lenses before using the ointment; otherwise, the surface of the contact lenses may be damaged.

If you're using other eye drops or ointments, leave about fifteen minutes between applications. It's recommended to use them last.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, consult your doctor before use.

The product is intended for continuous use for no more than seven consecutive days; if symptoms do not improve, consult your doctor.

Do not use in case of eye injuries.
