The ovulation test displays a clear smiley face on the digital screen when a surge in LH (luteinizing hormone) has been detected, so you know that the day of the test and the next are the best 2 days to get pregnant.
The days leading up to and including ovulation are the only days of each menstrual cycle when a woman can get pregnant. Unlike basal body temperature charts, ovulation kits detect the surge in luteinizing hormone (LH test) - a key fertility hormone that rises before ovulation - to accurately detect the days BEFORE, not AFTER, ovulation. The Clearblue Digital Ovulation Test is over 99% accurate in detecting the LH surge and has been validated by ultrasound.

Disposing of the test strip: After you have finished using the holder, separate the upper and lower halves, starting at the end closest to the display. Remove the batteries from under the central metal cover and dispose of them according to the appropriate recycling scheme. Caution: Do not disassemble, recharge or dispose of batteries in a fire. Do not swallow. Keep out of reach of children. Dispose of the remaining holder according to the appropriate recycling scheme for electrical equipment. Do not dispose of electrical equipment in a fire.
Clomiphene citrate does not affect the tests, but it may affect the length of your menstrual cycle and therefore when you should take the test. You may need to continue testing with a new box. You may get false results if you are pregnant, have recently been pregnant, have reached menopause, have impaired liver or kidney function, or suffer from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Always read the manufacturer's instructions for any medicine you are taking before taking the test. You may get false results if you are taking fertility medicines containing luteinising hormone (LH) or human chorionic gonadotropin, or if you are taking antibiotics containing tetracyclines. Clomiphene citrate does not affect the tests. If you have recently stopped using hormonal contraceptives, your cycles may be irregular, so it is best to wait until you have had 2 cycles before taking the test. Because prenatal care is so important for your baby's health, we recommend that you consult your doctor before trying to conceive. Consult your doctor if you are taking any medications or have any medical conditions before planning a pregnancy. If you have a medically diagnosed fertility problem, ask your doctor if this test is right for you, and if you get unexpected results, discuss them with your doctor. If you are under 35 and have not become pregnant, we recommend that you consult your doctor after 12 months. If you are over 35, consult your doctor if you have not become pregnant after 6 months and immediately if you ovulate.
