2. WHAT IS UC-II® COLLAGEN?

UC-II® is a matrix containing non-hydrolyzed and non-denatured type II collagen made up of a natural triple helix structure of type II collagen, the same one that is present in our joints.

Its mechanism of action is unique: It works alongside the immune system to promote healthy joints (through a process called oral tolerance).

This native form of collagen retains very special molecular regions called epitopes. Epitopes are able to bind to Peyer's patches (immune cells in our gut), triggering an immune response that can reduce inflammation and reverse the collagen breakdown process in our joints.
