100% Rosemary essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the fresh leaves and stems of the plant Rosmarinus officinalis. It is a clear, colorless to yellowish liquid with a distinctive aroma. Approximately 150 chemical compounds have been identified in the essential oils from R.officinalis, with the most commonly reported molecules being eucalyptol, camphor, camphene and borneol.
Many of its components provide significant anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity. In addition, rosemary essential oil has natural soothing, antiseptic and antibiotic properties.
