RULES FOR CORRECT ADMINISTRATION
Extreme precautions should be taken to avoid contaminating the eye drops throughout the entire administration process. To do this, wash your hands before administering the medication and avoid contact of the dropper with any body surface, including the eyelids and surrounding areas.
"Rules for administering eye drops"
1. Tilt your head back.
2. Pull down your lower eyelid with an index finger and look up.
3. Instill one drop into the conjunctival sac, holding the bottle vertically with the dropper pointing downwards.
4. After applying the drop, blink repeatedly to distribute the drop. To reduce possible systemic absorption, it is recommended to press the tear sac for one minute or close the eyelids tightly for 2-3 minutes immediately after administering the drop.
If other ophthalmic medications are being used, it is recommended to space administrations at least 5 minutes apart. More viscous formulations, such as ophthalmic ointments, are recommended to be administered last.
