Betargin is a food supplement in the form of sachets with liquid that dissolves in water. It is intended for adults to supplement their normal diet with betaine and arginine.

What properties do betaine and arginine have?

Betaine is a vitamin-like substance belonging to the amino acids, a derivative of the amino acid glycine (also known as trimethylglycine). Betaine contributes to the maintenance of proper homocysteine ​​metabolism.

Arginine is an endogenous amino acid (synthesized in the human body), referred to as a relatively exogenous amino acid. This means that under normal conditions, its average daily requirement is sufficiently met by synthesis in the body. However, under conditions of stress, illness or increased physical exertion, its level may be insufficient. This compound can be supplied to the body in food, as part of a properly balanced diet. Extremely valuable sources of arginine are: meat, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, seafood, whole grain products, nuts, lentils, spinach. Betargin can also be an excellent way to supply the body with arginine.

The medical product SmectaGo® is indicated for use in:

Treatment of acute diarrhea in adults and children over 8 years of age. In children with acute diarrhea, an oral rehydration solution (ORS) should be administered simultaneously.

Treatment of chronic diarrhea or abdominal pain in adults.

Instructions for use:

This ready-to-use product is for oral administration.

The contents can be taken directly from the sachet.

Before opening, gently squeeze the sachet.
After opening, each sachet should be used only once.

Dosage:

Acute diarrhea:

Children (8-15 years of age): The initial dose is 2 sachets, followed by 1 sachet after each bowel movement, up to a maximum of 4 sachets per day. An oral rehydration solution (ORS) is used to replace fluids lost due to diarrhea and prevent dehydration.

Adults and children over 15 years: The initial dose is 2 sachets, followed by 1 sachet after each loose stool, up to a maximum of 6 sachets per day. SmectaGo® can be used for up to 3 days. If diarrhea persists for more than 3 days, consult a doctor.

Chronic diarrhea or abdominal pain:

Adults (only): Up to 3 sachets per day. Without consulting a doctor, treatment should not last longer than 2 weeks. Prolonged or repeated use of SmectaGo® is not recommended.

Do not use if you are allergic to diosmectite or any of the other ingredients in this product, in children under 8 years of age with acute diarrhea, or in children with chronic diarrhea or abdominal pain.
