BORT Stack splint size 3 transparent 1 pc
Description
BORT Stack splint – finger splint for secure immobilization
The BORT Stack splint is a medical finger splint for the targeted immobilization of the distal interphalangeal (DIP) joint of your finger. It supports immobilization in cases of injuries such as fractures, dislocations, ligament injuries, or extensor tendon ruptures. The stable guidance of the finger allows the affected joint to be held in the position prescribed by the physician, thus supporting the healing process. The splint is intended for the use of a single patient and must not be shared or reused on other individuals.
Application and handling
Place the affected finger straight on a smooth, firm surface, such as a table. Slide the splint over the injured finger until the fingernail is visible in the semi-oval opening and the fingertip rests flush against the end of the splint. Ensure that the back end of the splint does not extend beyond the middle finger joint (PIP joint). For fixation, you can wrap a skin-friendly, self-adhesive fixation tape (not included) circularly around the back end of the splint. To remove, loosen the fixation tape and carefully peel the splint off the finger. Selection of the correct size and initial instruction on its use will be provided by trained professionals.
Important information and warnings
Use the BORT Stack splint only for medically confirmed indications such as fracture, dislocation, ligament injury, or extensor tendon rupture of the affected finger. The splint must not be used in cases of unexplained soft tissue swelling, sensory disturbances, circulatory disorders, or skin conditions in the treated area. If numbness occurs during use, remove the splint if necessary and consult your doctor or pharmacist. Medical attention is required if symptoms, pain, or worsening of the condition persist. The splint must not be worn on open wounds and should not be used if there is an intolerance to the materials used. The splint must be removed before radiological examinations.
Care and lifespan
The BORT Stack splint should be hand-washed and must not be dry-cleaned, bleached, tumble-dried, ironed, or treated with fabric softener. The lifespan of this medical device depends on natural wear and tear with proper use. At the end of its use, the product should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
