Efficient eye lubrication with high-quality hyaluronic acid
HYLO COMOD® offers long-lasting and effective relief from dry eyes. The moisturizing effect and excellent tolerability of these eye drops have been proven millions of times over: HYLO COMOD® is the most widely used eye moisturizer in Germany.* Thanks to its highly viscous, long-chain hyaluronic acid, HYLO COMOD® eye drops improve the lubrication of the sensitive surface of the eye in cases of moderate to severe dry eye symptoms. The drops supplement the natural tear film, thus providing long-lasting protection against damage caused by dehydration. Typical symptoms such as redness, burning, itching, and a foreign body sensation subside quickly. Due to its long-lasting moisturizing effect without preservatives or phosphates, this medical device is also suitable before and after eye surgery when the supply of sufficient tear fluid is impaired.

Practical and economical thanks to the patented COMOD® system
To protect sensitive eyes, eye drops should be well-tolerated and free of pathogenic germs. Conventional eye drops therefore usually contain preservatives, which can, however, cause intolerances and allergies. The medical devices of the HYLO® product family are offered in the innovative COMOD® system. The eye drops are sterile and hermetically sealed, thus eliminating the need for preservatives. In addition, the patented system offers precise dosing: only one drop is dispensed per pump. Once opened, a bottle has a shelf life of six months and contains at least 300 drops.
Digital stress
If your eyes burn or itch, tire quickly, or you experience a foreign body sensation, insufficient lubrication of the eye's surface may be the underlying cause. Dry eyes affect one in five people who visit an ophthalmologist today. Various factors can contribute to the development of dry eyes, including environmental influences, illnesses, and medications. One of the main causes of tear film disruption is eye strain from screen work and the use of digital media.
Air-conditioned rooms
Anyone who leads an active lifestyle and travels a lot for work or leisure knows the problem: In trains, planes, conference rooms, and hotel rooms, the air conditioning runs at full blast, radiating dry air. This can also affect the eyes: The lack of humidity causes the tear film to dry out more quickly, and the unprotected surface of the eye reacts with irritation, burning, itching, and redness. Therefore, you should always have moisturizing eye drops readily available when you're out and about.
Eye surgery
Surgical procedures on the eye can severely impair the supply of tear fluid. This is precisely what needs to be avoided, as wounds after eye surgery can only heal optimally in a sufficiently moist environment. Due to their long-lasting moisturizing effect and the absence of preservatives and phosphates, HYLO COMOD® eye drops have proven effective in this regard. This medical device is used in numerous eye clinics for post-operative care.
Frequently Asked Questions & Answers
How often should I use HYLO COMOD® eye drops daily?
HYLO COMOD® provides efficient and long-lasting lubrication of the eyes for moderate to severe symptoms caused by dry eyes, as well as for tear film disruption following surgical procedures. The dosage of the eye drops depends on your individual needs and/or the recommendation of your ophthalmologist. Generally, one drop of HYLO COMOD® is instilled into the lower eyelid of each eye three times daily. If you are using HYLO COMOD® in addition to another eye drop medication, an interval of at least 30 minutes should be observed between applications. In this case, HYLO COMOD® should be administered last. If, however, an eye ointment has also been prescribed, apply it to the conjunctival sac after using HYLO COMOD®.
What can I do myself to relieve the strain on my eyes?
A healthy lifestyle with a balanced, nutrient-rich diet, a daily fluid intake of at least two liters of water, and sufficient sleep forms the basis for healthy eyes. Avoid common causes of dry eyes as much as possible, such as prolonged exposure to air-conditioned and overheated rooms, drafts, cigarette smoke, or fine dust. Give your eyes frequent breaks – especially if you spend all day at the computer for work. Regular breaks from screen work, targeted oxygen supply through ventilation of offices and living spaces, and walks in the fresh air can revive tired and strained eyes. If you wear contact lenses, you should not exceed the recommended wearing time; occasional days with glasses allow your eyes to recover. Additionally, moisturizing eye drops can help relieve red, burning, or itchy eyes throughout the day. The HYLO® product family offers a versatile range of eye moisturizers for every severity of dry eye – from a quick refresh to intensive care for severe symptoms that may be accompanied by signs of inflammation or impairment of the ocular surface.
