Omega-3 fatty acids
Omega-3 fatty acids are essential nutrients that the body cannot produce itself. They must therefore be regularly obtained through diet. The unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids include docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), which are found primarily in fatty cold-water fish (salmon, mackerel, halibut, etc.). These play a role in adulthood as well as in the development of embryos and infants. A daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA contributes to normal heart function. A daily intake of 250 mg of DHA also contributes to healthy vision and normal brain function. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, a daily intake of 200 mg of DHA, in addition to the recommended daily intake of 250 mg of DHA and EPA, can support the normal development of the brain and eyes of the fetus and infant. Insufficient intake of omega-3 fatty acids can be promoted by a diet low in fish or by abstaining from fish altogether.

Plant-based sources of omega-3
Sunflower, rapeseed, walnut, or flaxseed oils are only conditionally suitable as sources of omega-3 fatty acids. This is because these plant oils contain only alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) as an omega-3 fatty acid, from which the human body can only produce small amounts of EPA and DHA. omega3-Loges® plant-based contains a DHA- and EPA-rich oil derived from a natural microalga in a guideline-compliant dosage. It is therefore suitable for daily, purely plant-based omega-3 intake.

What is special about omega3-Loges® plant-based?
omega3-Loges® plant-based contains an oil extracted from the microalga Schizochytrium. Unlike other algae oil products, it is rich in DHA and EPA, both essential omega-3 fatty acids. To conserve natural resources, the microalgae for omega3-Loges® plant-based are not sourced from the sea, but are cultivated using a special, complex process. An additional benefit is that no environmental contaminants, such as heavy metals, enter the oil. No animal-derived ingredients are used in our product.
