Viñas presents Vaselix 40% ointment, a keratolytic formulated to treat hyperkeratosis, especially in cases with excessive skin peeling and/or thick stratum corneum, such as calluses, thick psoriasis plaques, etc. It is also useful in cases of mosaic warts, chronic eczema and corns. Its high salicylic acid content has an exfoliating effect that helps remove the stratum corneum present in these types of conditions, thus reducing excessive skin peeling.

Hyperkeratotic skin conditions are characterized by thickening of the outer layer of the epidermis, known as the stratum corneum. At this level, the cells have a high keratin content, which gives the skin a dry and hard texture. These conditions are commonly known as calluses or corns. However, there are several types or forms of hyperkeratosis, including warts, eczema, and ichthyosis, among others.

In this case, salicylic acid helps to thin the thick, hard layer of the epidermis. It also removes dead skin cells and reduces inflammation.

It comes in a 30 gram presentation.

It is indicated for all people with hyperkeratotic skin.

It is recommended to apply once or twice a day to small, localized hyperkeratotic areas. If the affected area is more extensive, apply two or three times a week. Apply a thin layer to the affected area and massage gently until completely absorbed, avoiding contact with the surrounding healthy skin. The ointment should not be used for long periods of time. It can be used under occlusive dressings. If the dressings are not occlusive, it is recommended to cover the area, as the product base is oily. After using the ointment, it is recommended to wash your hands thoroughly, unless they also require treatment.

Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of its components. Do not apply to moles, birthmarks or hairy warts. Do not apply to children under 2 years of age. Do not apply to open wounds, on the genitals or near the eyes. Use with caution in diabetics and patients with peripheral circulatory problems.
