Microdacyn at a glance - Advantages of Microdacyn compared to chemical substances:
Microdacyn combines the effectiveness of well-known synthetic wound irrigation solutions with optimal tolerability.
- Cleaning through mechanical removal of microorganisms and cell disruption.
- It can remain in the wound and does not need to be rinsed out.
- Also applicable to exposed joints, bones, cartilage, ligaments and tendons.
- For intra- and postoperative rinsing and cleaning of wounds.
- For use in body cavities such as: mouth, nose, throat, ears and peritoneal cavity.
- Prevents the proliferation of bacteria, viruses, spores, and fungi in the product and in dressings and compresses moistened with it.
- No known resistances.
- Can be used indefinitely.
- Separate dosage form for NPWT.
- Microdacyn60 is not cytotoxic.
Optimal effectiveness:
Microdacyn ensures a safe reduction of microbial contamination and, with regular use, prevents renewed bacterial growth. Microdacyn also facilitates the mechanical removal of microorganisms and cell rupture.
Optimal compatibility:
The main ingredient of Microdacyn is hypochlorous acid (HOCl). It is an important component of our innate immune system and is produced and released by macrophages as an endogenous substance during phagocytosis. This results in significant advantages over other wound irrigation and antiseptic solutions: Due to the process also used in phagocytosis, the mechanical reaction of Microdacyn is directed exclusively against single-celled microorganisms and not against more highly organized cell structures. Therefore, the body's own healthy cells are not attacked or destroyed.
- Microdacyn has no known side effects on human cells.
- Microdacyn is not cytotoxic.
- Microdacyn does not cause premature aging.
Microdacyn is ideal for use on exposed joints, tendons, bones, and ligaments. It can also be used for insertion during NPWT and peritoneal irrigation.
Instructions for use:
Rinse the wound with Microdacyn and allow it to take effect briefly. This process can be repeated up to three times a day or with each dressing change. Alternatively, the wound can be cleaned with a compress soaked in Microdacyn. While Microdacyn is taking effect, Microdacyn60 Hydrogel can be applied if needed. Adhered dressings can be easily and atraumatically removed with Microdacyn. To support mechanical wound cleansing, it is advisable to extend the contact time of Microdacyn to 15 minutes.
- Rinse the wound with Microdacyn Wound Care and leave on for 10–15 minutes.
- Clean the wound with a compress soaked in Microdacyn Wound Care.
- If necessary, spray on Microdacyn Hydrogel and apply the wound dressing as usual.
Practical advice:
- Microdacyn is a ready-to-use, pH-neutral wound irrigation solution.
- pH value 7.0.
