Tanno-Hermal® Lotio medical device contains synthetic tannin, which has astringent and drying properties for oozing post-infectious skin lesions. Tannin, together with zinc oxide and talc, binds secretions from the wound and creates a protective barrier on the surface of the affected skin. By drying the inflamed and oozing parts of the skin, the preparation deprives bacteria and fungi of food, inhibiting the further spread of infection.

Tanno-Hermal® Lotio reduces itching and irritation and allows the skin to regenerate. It is especially recommended as an adjunct in diaper rash, in the treatment of excessive sweating and for the local treatment of itchy and oozing rashes. The talc and zinc oxide contained in the preparation help to dry up fluid-filled blisters, for example in cases of chicken pox and cold sores.
