POSIFORLID Self-Heating Eye Mask (1 pc.)
Description
The eye mask is a medical device intended to treat eye conditions caused by blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelid margin), Meibomian gland dysfunction (blockage or abnormal functioning of the Meibomian glands), styes (pillars) and chalazion.
These eyelid margin conditions can be common causes of eye irritation and discomfort, manifested by dryness, fatigue, burning sensation, or excessive tearing.
The moist heat generated by the eye mask softens the crusts on the eyelids, making them easier to remove.
It also improves blood circulation in the eyelids and thins the secretions of the Meibomian glands, allowing for easier removal from the glands during eyelid massage.
The eye mask consists of:
A self-heating element (A) provided with two separate compartments.
Each compartment contains a sodium acetate solution and a metal disc with a plastic rim (B), required to activate the mask.
An eye mask cover (C), into which the self-heating element is inserted.
The mask cover is equipped with an adjustable elastic strap, a plastic fastener and slots for inserting cotton pads.
None of the components that come into contact with the skin contain latex. The mask components do not contain phthalates or silicone.
How to use
Each mask can be used up to 90 times.
In case of blepharitis or Meibomian gland dysfunction: it is recommended to use twice a day (morning and evening).
To treat a stye or chalazion: consult an ophthalmologist.
There is no limit to the duration of treatment. Consult an ophthalmologist if symptoms persist.
Procedure
The mask is ready for use when the contents of the self-heating element (A) are in a liquid state.
If the contents are solid (a situation that cannot be excluded following transport), follow the instructions described in section 4.I.
Unless your doctor recommends otherwise, use the eye mask as follows:
Before use
Check the mask for damage or leaks (do not use a damaged mask). Wash your hands thoroughly and remove contact lenses and eye makeup.
Apply the ointment or eye drops only after using the eye mask.
Training
Insert the inactive element (A) into the eye mask cover (C). Close the cover using the staple. Activation
Activate both sides of the element (A) successively using the trigger mechanism: press the metal disc several times in both directions until the content of the element becomes milky and solidifies, heating up at the same time (similar to a hand warmer). Further massaging the heated element softens it, allowing it to better mold to the eye area. Moisten two cotton pads with lukewarm water and place them behind the oval cutouts, between the activated element (A) and the mask cover (C).
Application
When applying the mask over closed eyes, make sure the cotton pads are damp. Slip the elastic band over your head and adjust for a comfortable fit. Let the heat work for 5–10 minutes.
Eyelid hygiene after use
Remove the eye mask and use the cotton pads used to massage and cleanse the eyelids and their edges as follows:
Upper eyelid: gently wipe from top to bottom, 5–10 times.
Lower eyelid: gently wipe from bottom to top, 5–10 times.
Finally, clean the edges of your eyelids again using clean, damp cotton pads. Discard the cotton pads after use.
4.1. Preparing the self-heating element for reuse
Do not use sharp objects when handling the element (A). Remove the element from the mask cover (C) and boil it in water for approximately 10 minutes. Make sure the element is completely submerged in the water. The element is ready for reuse once its contents have completely liquefied again. After removing the element from the boiling water, allow it to cool to room temperature for at least 30 minutes to prevent heat irritation.
Dry the element and store it in the clear case (D) between uses.
4.2. Cleaning the cover
Since the mask cover (C) does not need to be boiled, simply clean it with a damp cloth and soapy water. Dry all components with a clean towel.
Careful
For external use only, on intact skin. For persons under 18 years of age, use should be under adult supervision.
Use with extreme caution on children and the elderly to avoid irritation caused by heat.
Do not use the product after eye surgery or in case of dermatological conditions such as eczema, rosacea or other skin irritations in the eye area.
Remove contact lenses and makeup before using the mask to prevent eye damage or irritation.
Use only with moistened cotton pads (not included).
Activating the inner element (A): use only the click activation mechanism. Preparing the inner element for reuse: use only boiling water. Never heat the inner element in the microwave, oven, etc.
Do not use the product if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients. Discontinue use if the sensation of warmth becomes uncomfortable for the skin.
If the substance inside element (A) accidentally comes into contact with your skin, eyes or mouth, rinse the affected area with running water for several minutes.
