Cutimed Sorbact Hydroactive compresses

Cutimed Sorbact Hydroactive combines the unique Sorbact principle with flexible exudate management. It binds germs based on the principle of hydrophobic interaction and does not require the use of chemical antimicrobial substances: The special Sorbact coating gives the product strong hydrophobic (water-repellent) properties. Many pathogenic bacteria and fungi are naturally hydrophobic and therefore bind to the Sorbact fabric. Thus, with each dressing change, the number of germs in the wound is reduced, creating optimal conditions for the natural wound healing process. The hydrogel matrix of Cutimed Sorbact Hydroactive also keeps the wound environment moist and promotes autolytic debridement in fibrin-covered and necrotic wounds. Cutimed Sorbact Hydroactive consists of an acetate fabric with a bacteria-binding coating, an absorbent hydropolymer matrix with a semipermeable polyurethane cover film, and a hydrogel-based adhesive border.

Advantages:

• No known mechanisms for the development of resistance in bacteria or fungi to Cutimed Sorbact.
• No killing of bacteria and fungi, therefore no additional release of endotoxins and thus no associated delay in healing.
• Unlimited duration of use during the course of therapy.

Application:
Cutimed Sorbact Hydroactive is suitable for all clean, colonized, contaminated or infected wounds and is used for wounds with low to moderate exudate:

• chronic wounds (e.g. venous, arterial or diabetic ulcers as well as pressure sores).
• Postoperative wounds and wound dehiscence.
• traumatic wounds.
• Wounds following excision of fistulas and abscesses, however contraindicated for wound cavities.

Dressing change:
Depending on the amount of exudate, the overall condition of the wound and the surrounding area, at the latest after 4 days.
