DECAPAN 10 Keratolytic Lotion Salicylic Acid 10% Description Keratolytic lotion containing 10% salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is a fat-soluble substance that mixes with lipids in the stratum corneum and sebaceous glands of hair follicles and is able to remove them. Salicylic acid is also able to alter desmosomes (intercellular junctions of corneocytes), reducing cell cohesion and causing an exfoliating effect. It therefore has keratolytic properties.
