Oregano, a perennial plant with a strong aroma, is resistant, grows as a bush up to 60 cm tall, has a hairy stem, oval dark green leaves, with pink flowers clustered at the end of the branches.

It is a plant with an old medicinal reputation, today it is used on a large scale starting from the Mediterranean cuisine and up to the inclusion in preparations for dental and oral hygiene.

Many herbs are superficially classified as oregano, especially when it comes to marjoram, various sources suggest that the two are interchangeable. In fact, there are many varieties of oregano that can be used interchangeably as a spice in food, but there are big differences between the therapeutic capacities of the essential oils extracted from the various varieties.
