CONTRAINDICATIONS

INDICATIONS

- [CONSTIPATION]. Symptomatic and temporary treatment of constipation. Post-operative constipation. In cases of chronic constipation, it facilitates defecation.

INTERACTIONS

- Digoxin. Prolonged use of laxatives may increase digoxin toxicity.

LACTATION

It is unknown whether the components of this medication are excreted in breast milk. Its safety and efficacy have not been evaluated; therefore, its use is not recommended.

GUIDELINES FOR PROPER ADMINISTRATION

Take preferably at bedtime, alone or diluted with water, juice or milk.

POSOLOGY

DOSAGE: - Adults, oral: 1-3 tablespoons/24 hours. Maximum dose: 6 tablespoons in 3 doses. Each tablespoon is equivalent to 15 ml. - Children over 5 years: 1 dessert spoon or tablespoon/24 h, according to weight and age (one dessert spoon is equivalent to 5 ml). - Children between 1 and 5 years: 1 or 2 dessert spoons/24 h depending on age and effects obtained. - Children between 2 months and one year: a quarter or half a teaspoon/24 h depending on age and effects obtained.

PRECAUTIONS

- Symptoms of appendicitis (nausea, vomiting, or abdominal cramps). - Electrolyte imbalance. - Dependence. Continued use of laxatives can lead to dependence, as they may cause electrolyte imbalances that result in intestinal atony.

PRECAUTIONS RELATING TO EXCIPIENTS

This medicine contains sucrose. Patients with hereditary fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency should not take this medicine.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

Adverse effects are generally mild and transient. The most characteristic adverse reactions are: - Digestive. After continued use, the following may rarely occur: [ABDOMINAL PAIN], [NAUSEA], [DIARRHEA], [CRAMPS] and [FLATULENCE]. - Rarely, [EXANTHEMATOUS ERUPTIONS].
