Composition:
The leaves of the senna plant - Cassia senna L

Bioactive substances:
Anthracenosides, flavonosides, acid polyholosides, polyols, derivatives, naphthalenes, phytosterols, volatile oil, waxes, tannins, mineral salts, resins.

Action:
Laxative or purgative depending on the dose, by directly stimulating intestinal peristalsis.

Main uses:
Internally: Traditionally in chronic constipation and acute constipation.

Administration method:
Internally: infusion - pour 250ml of boiling water over a teaspoon of the plant. The dish is covered and left to rest for 10-15 minutes, after which it is strained. Drink 1-2 cups of tea a day, for a maximum of 10 days, with a 10-day break between courses. The laxative effect sets in 8-10 hours after ingestion.

Contraindications:
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, intestinal occlusions, ulcers or inflammatory bowel diseases, children under 12 years. It is not administered for a long time because it can produce changes in the lining of the large intestine.
