Description
Tabcin Trend is a painkiller and antipyretic that also decongests the nose. The medication comes in soft capsules containing three active ingredients: paracetamol, pseudoephedrine, and chlorpheniramine, which alleviate the symptoms of the flu and cold. Tabcin Trend is used for symptoms such as fever, runny nose, sore and scratchy throat, sneezing, headache, swelling of the nasal and sinus mucosa, and general malaise.
Composition
The active substances of the drug are: paracetamol ( Paracetamolum ), pseudoephedrine hydrochloride ( Pseudoephedrini hydrochloridum ) and chlorpheniramine maleate ( Chlorpheniramini maleas ).
1 soft capsule contains 250 mg of paracetamol, 30 mg of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and 2 mg of chlorpheniramine maleate.
Excipients: polyethylene glycol 400, propylene glycol, purified water, povidone K30; shell composition: sorbitol 70%, glycerol 85%, gelatin, cochineal red A (E124), brilliant blue FCF (E133), shellac, titanium dioxide (E171), propylene glycol; ink composition: titanium dioxide, modified shellac, N-butyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, propylene glycol.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any further questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The usual dosage for adults and adolescents 15 years of age and older is two soft capsules taken with water. This dose can be repeated if necessary, but not more often than every four hours and not more than three times a day.
Action
Tabcin Trend's action is multifaceted. The main ingredient is paracetamol, responsible for its analgesic and antipyretic effects. Chlorpheniramine, an antihistamine, relieves the symptoms of rhinitis (runny nose and sneezing) associated with flu and colds. Pseudoephedrine causes blood vessels to constrict, reducing swelling in the nasal and sinus mucosa, ultimately making breathing easier.
Indications
The indications for using Tabcin Trend are the relief of flu and cold symptoms accompanied by fever, runny nose, sore and scratchy throat, sneezing, headache, swelling of the nasal and sinus mucosa and a general feeling of malaise.
Contraindications
When not to use Tabcin Trend:
- if you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
- if you have a respiratory disease such as chronic bronchitis or emphysema;
- if you have glaucoma, prostate enlargement, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes or hyperthyroidism;
- if you have congenital glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency;
- if you are taking or have taken antidepressants from the monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) group within the last 2 weeks or are taking AZT (zidovudine);
- if you have severe liver failure (Child-Pugh score>9);
- if you have severe kidney failure;
- in children up to 15 years of age.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Nervous system disorders: drowsiness, dry mouth, excitability, anxiety, dizziness, insomnia, fear, tremors, hallucinations, epileptic seizures.
Respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal disorders: breathing problems; in patients with hypersensitivity to analgesics and antirheumatic drugs, worsening of asthma symptoms may sometimes occur ("analgesic asthma").
Gastrointestinal disorders: nausea, vomiting.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: erythema, very rarely allergic reactions with inflammatory skin lesions.
Blood and lymphatic system disorders: blood disorders such as: reduced blood cell count (agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, pancytopenia, leukopenia) and aplastic anemia.
General disorders and administration site conditions: headache.
Cardiac disorders: reflex slowing of the heart rate (bradycardia), hypertension, tachycardia (increased heart rate), palpitations.
Kidney and urinary tract disorders: difficulty urinating, kidney damage.
Immune system disorders: hypersensitivity reactions such as angioedema, respiratory distress syndrome, increased sweating, nausea, hypotension or shock have been reported rarely.
Hepatobiliary disorders: liver damage, severe liver damage in case of overdose.
Warnings and precautions
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
- Store below 25ºC.
Use of other medications
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking, have recently taken or might take.
This medication should not be used with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), both while taking them and for at least two weeks after discontinuing treatment. MAOIs (compounds found in many psychiatric medications used to treat depression, Parkinson's disease, and others) potentiate the effects of chlorpheniramine and pseudoephedrine.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
The drug should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Use of the drug in children and adolescents
Not to be used in children under 15 years of age.
Driving and operating machinery
Do not drive, as the drug may impair your mental and physical abilities. Do not operate any machinery or use dangerous tools.
